AutoXen is a UK-based automotive business specialising in the import and sale of second-hand Japanese vehicles. Operating both a physical showroom and online sales channels, AutoXen sources quality pre-owned cars directly from Japan and brings them to the UK market. Alongside vehicle sales, the business runs a dedicated service workshop, offering maintenance and repairs to its growing customer base.
Veriland Consulting partnered with AutoXen to deliver a comprehensive digital transformation, implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the single platform to manage every facet of their operations — from international vehicle procurement and customs logistics, through to showroom sales, after-sales servicing, and a fully integrated web presence. The project also encompassed building AutoXen's online storefront and connecting it to leading automotive marketplaces.
Before engaging Veriland, AutoXen faced a fragmented operational landscape that was severely limiting growth. The business relied on a patchwork of disconnected tools: spreadsheets for tracking imported vehicle inventory, a standalone accounting package, manual paperwork for service bookings, and a basic website that had no connection to live stock data.
This disconnection created significant pain points across the business:

Veriland delivered a phased implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, tailored specifically to the automotive import and retail sector. The solution leveraged Veriland's own ISV (Independent Software Vendor) products to extend Business Central with deep automotive and e-commerce capabilities that are not available out of the box.
The Veriland team configured Business Central to serve as AutoXen's single source of truth. Finance, purchasing, inventory, and sales modules were set up with automotive-specific workflows. Each vehicle is tracked as a unique serialised item from the moment it is purchased at auction in Japan through to final sale and beyond into after-sales service history.
A bespoke import pipeline was built within Business Central to manage the entire journey of each vehicle: auction purchase in Japan, export documentation, ocean freight tracking, UK port arrival, customs clearance, HMRC duty and VAT calculations, NOVA (Notification of Vehicle Arrivals) processing, DVLA registration, MOT booking, and pre-sale preparation. Each cost element is captured against the vehicle record, giving AutoXen a precise landed cost and real-time margin visibility.
Veriland's ISV integration layer connects Business Central to key industry data providers. The integrations with VehicleData and manufacturer platforms (BMW, VAG Group) allow AutoXen to pull comprehensive vehicle specifications — including engine details, trim levels, equipment lists, emissions data, and service history — directly into the vehicle record. This eliminates manual data entry and ensures listings are accurate and richly detailed from the start.
The service department was brought into Business Central with a dedicated workshop management module. Service advisors can create job cards, allocate technicians, order parts from within the system, track labour time, and invoice customers — all linked back to the vehicle and customer master record. Service history travels with the vehicle, enhancing resale value and customer trust.

Veriland built AutoXen's customer-facing website and connected it directly to Business Central. Vehicle listings are published and updated automatically — when a car's status changes in the ERP (e.g. from "in preparation" to "ready for sale"), the website reflects this in real time. Pricing, imagery, specifications, and availability are all driven from the single Business Central record.
Through Veriland's ISV connector, AutoXen's inventory is automatically syndicated to AutoTrader — the UK's largest automotive marketplace. Listings are created, updated, and removed in sync with Business Central, eliminating the need for separate AutoTrader management and ensuring consistency across all sales channels. Enquiries from AutoTrader flow back into Business Central as leads, creating a closed-loop sales process.
A key differentiator of the AutoXen solution is the breadth of third-party integrations delivered through Veriland's ISV products. These connections transform Business Central from a standalone ERP into a connected automotive commerce platform.
Automated listing syndication, real-time inventory sync, lead capture, and performance analytics. AutoXen's vehicles appear on the UK's largest car marketplace within minutes of being marked ready for sale.
Instant vehicle specification lookup by VIN or registration number. Pulls engine, transmission, dimensions, emissions, and equipment data directly into the Business Central vehicle record.
Direct manufacturer data feed for BMW and MINI vehicles, providing factory specification sheets, option codes, and service interval data for accurate listings and service planning.
Integration with Volkswagen Group platforms covering VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and Porsche. Retrieves detailed build data, PR codes, and equipment specifications for imported vehicles.
All integrations are managed through Veriland's ISV middleware, meaning AutoXen's team interacts with a single, familiar Business Central interface. Data flows bi-directionally where needed, and all API calls are logged, monitored, and retried automatically to ensure reliability.
The transformation delivered measurable improvements across every department within AutoXen, fundamentally changing how the business operates on a day-to-day basis.
