Honest limits: editing is for custom-model objects only — standard Microsoft code stays read-only — and form data-source/control code is view-only (the app won’t save it rather than risk the XML). It doesn’t compile or deploy.

The Microsoft Store build is fully signed. The directWindows installers aren’t code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn on first run — choose More info → Run anyway. The macOS builds are signed & notarized and open without warnings. Not sure which Windows build? The combined installer auto-selects your architecture. View all releases.
Download the build for your OS and run it. Windows installs per-user (no admin rights); on macOS, open the .dmg and drag the app to Applications.
Sign in with your Microsoft Entra ID account (MFA supported). Your environments load automatically and your session is remembered.
Select an F&O/UDE environment, request a just-in-time grant, then open the SQL Workspace.
Open the MCP Server page, click Start, then add it to Claude Code or Claude Desktop.
Turn on the MCP server and ask Claude things like “list my environments and tell me which are UDEs” or “run this SQL on Contoso Dev”. Read operations are on by default; write operations stay opt-in, so the assistant only changes things when you let it.
